The three Democratic members were selected by Sen. Williams; the three Republican members were recommended by Senate Minority Leader John McKinney (R-Southport) and approved by Sen. Williams.

"The members of this committee are highly respected by their peers, have nearly a century of combined legislative experience, and have a deep and abiding respect for public service and the General Assembly," Sen. Williams said. "I am confident that each member will approach this task with an open mind and with the best interests of the public at heart."

"The work of the Bipartisan Committee of Review is important to both the state Senate and to the citizens of our state who, rightfully, expect us to act in a fair and responsible manner," Sen. McKinney said. "I have spent a great deal of time considering who to recommend for appointment to this panel, and am confident that I have chosen well. These three individuals have earned their reputations as outstanding legislators and, even more importantly, as ethical, responsible people who the citizens of our state, and our legislators, will trust to do what is right."
